Membrane Technology is a leading edge technology and will become very soon becoming
the Best Available Technology for water and waste water treatment. Membranes are
to day involved at large scale in drinking water production, wastewater treatment
and reuse, desalination.
The specialised group of Membrane Technology of IWA is happy to be involved in the regional conference organised at Moscow. This event will bring a unique opportunity to get the up-to date information on the scientific, technical and economic aspects of the subject with the participation of the main actors in the field and international experts.
The evolution of membrane technology has been very fast during these last years: attending the Moscow conference will allow you to get the latest results.
Looking forward to meeting you there,
Roger BEN AIM
Professor Emeritus at INSA Toulouse
Chairman of the specialised group Membrane Technology of IWA

One of the main activities of the EMS is to support and promote education and dissemination of membrane science and technology as a whole. As such, the EMS supports events in various ways and it is a pleasure to endorse the IWA Regional Conference "Membrane Technologies in Water and Waste Water Treatment" to be held in Moscow 24 June 2008. Water is a fundamental and essential aspect of all communities where membrane technology is increasingly being applied to meet challenges related to production of potable water, treatment of wastewater and sustainable exploitation of our earth's water resources. This event gives the opportunity of exploring the developments of membrane technology in this important field. I am sure it will be an inspiration to meet colleagues and exchange news at the event.

Deadlines and important dates
15 April 2008 - deadline for visa application (if required) and accommodation arrangement
1 June 2008 - registration of participants
2-4 June 2008 - IWA Regional Conference for Membrane Technologies
Venue
"Crocus Expo" International Exhibition Center was designed and constructed
using modern construction materials in accordance with the highest international
architectural standards. Its core business is holding of large international
exhibitions
of different profiles with participation of Russian and foreign companies.
At present "Crocus Expo" is one of the largest and most perspective exhibition
grounds in Russia. The indoor exhibition area of its two pavilions occupies
86 800 sq. m and the outdoor area occupies 66 500 sq. m.
There are eleven exhibition halls in its two pavilions, equipped according to
the latest international standards, thirteen conference halls with all the necessary
facilities for holding exhibition and congress events, presentations and seminars,
and nine negotiation rooms.
For visitors' convenience there is a covered passageway between the
first and the second pavilions of the exhibition center equipped with travellators
("speedwalks") that will save time of observing the expositions displayed on
the whole showground site.
Multimedia data terminals, which help visitors to orient both in the exhibition
pavilions and within each particular exhibition, are installed at the entrances
to each exhibition hall and at food courts.
Advanced security systems will provide comfortable working climate for exhibitors
during an exhibition period as well as during mounting and dismantling periods.
Overall guarding is provided during all exhibitions in general, but at the same
time exhibitors can order individual guarding of their exhibition booth.

and modern styles. Organisers hope that you will enjoy your stay in Moscow in
summer, which is certainly the best season to visit this wonderful city.
ECWATECH-2008
IWA Regional Conference on Membrane Technologies in Water and Waste Water
Treatment will be held within the frameworks of ECWATECH-2008 - the leading
water forum in Eastern Europe covering a wide range of equipment, services and
topics on water conservation and protection, water supply, sewage treatment,
etc. ECWATECH is the event comprising the exhibition and alongside congress,
and this effective co-existence enables to carry out shows of technologies and
discussions of urgent and important issues by professionals at congress sessions.
ECWATECH-2006 exceeded the results of the previous edition of the forum by 48%
and number of participants amounted to more than 650 exhibitors including 194
international from 29 countries, more than 10800 sq. m. of exhibition area,
9077 trade visitors and 1383 congress participants from 48 countries. In 2006
ECWATECH was audited by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry UFI.
The fact that right after the forum of 2006 many participants started booking
areas for ECWATECH-2008 ensures even more successful event and guarantees that
it will go beyond the results of 2006.
